What is a Support Group?

A group of families, survivors, professionals, and friends who gather together to help one another emotionally and share information on resources.

Who can attend AHIA Support Group meetings?

Everyone is welcome at our support group meetings! We encourage not only survivors, but their friends and/or family to come and talk with others like you.

What do you do at your Support Group meetings?

Survivors have the opportunity to participate in a session specific to their needs, the topic of which varies month to month. Families and friends have the opportunity to visit and collaborate with other individuals who may be sharing a similar situation.

In our monthly meetings,
we strive to provide speakers and programs that are informative and will benefit our members and survivors in some way. However, if you have come to our meeting seeking personal support or guidance and would prefer to speak with someone one-on-one, please let us know. There will always be someone available to talk with you.
